Three step program for optimal tank care
First and foremost, a topped-off water tank filled with fresh water guarantees a worry-free vacation in your caravan or on your boat. Unsatisfactory hygiene of the tank system however quickly makes even the best water undrinkable.

How do Algae and bacteria actually get into a water tank?
Cause 1 - Inadequate cleaning of the tank system, allowing germs and bacteria to create the perfect breeding ground.
Solution: Clean the entire drinking water system (tanks, linkes and pumps) at the beginning and end of the holiday season with a tank care product such as MT Clean 250P and MT Fresh 25P.
Cause 2 - When bacteria and pathogens are already present in tap water or are introduced via contaminated filling stations (for example, when hoses are lying on the ground).
Solution: Every time the tank is filled, disinfect and extend the life of the water with additives such as Micropur Forte.
Cause 3 - During longer non-operational periods and with insufficient ventilation, the remaining water in the tank system causes stubborn bacteria and algae to gro on the interior of the lines.
Solution: Prior to longer non-operation of tanks and lines, fill with fresh drinking water and use Micropur Classic to protect the system from bacterial contamination for up to six months.
Now let's head to the 3 step program for clean drinking water
Step 1 - Clean the holding tank
For comprehensive and effortless cleaning of the drinking water system dissolve in warm water one gram of MT Clean 250P per liter of tank volume, then pour it into the empty fresh water tank. Finally, start the water pump, open taps and allow the tank to fill completely - that runs the MT Clean 250P through the entire water supply system. After operating the system a short time, turn off the pumps. Leave the water taps open in order to avoid creating air pockets. Now allow the MT Clean 250P solution to remain in the tank for approximately eight to 10 hours. Finally, completely empty the fresh water tank running water through the shower, sinks and washbasins. Repeat as needed for older or heavier tank contamination.
Step 2 - Eliminate hard mineral deposits and odors
For thorough removal of mineral deposits and unpleasant odors dissolve in warm water 10 grams of MT Fresh 25P per liter, then pour it into the empty fresh water tank. Finally, open water taps for a short time to run the MT Fresh 25P through all of the lines. Allow the refreshing solution to remain in the lines for one or two hours. For best results, repeat the entire process one to two times for every tap. Finally, flush the drinking water system with fresh water.
Step 3 - Purify and store drinking water
After cleaning the tank, refill the tank with water. If the water is not potable water, then the water in the tank must be purified with Micropur Forte for longer storage. If the tank has already been filled with safe water, it must only be treated with Micropur Classic.
Option A - Purify and store clear water with Micropur Forte.
Option B - Store clear water with Micropur Classic. Micropur Classic does not come as part of the Micropur Microbox Tank Care Line starter set.
